Feature overview
icoya OpenContent offers a lot of valuable features, an easy-to-use interfache and an excellent support of multiple languages for text, graphics and data.
Among the main features of icoya OpenContent are:
- Optimized user interface:
Every editor has its own workspace, where he or she can access release lists, favourites, and references to documents by one simple mouse click. The graphical user interface is completely bilingual (English and German) and the desired language can be switched by simply selecting the language with one click. Additional languages are available (French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, and others). The menus for file and image selections have been improved as well: both now offer an integrated search engine, that simplifies the search for specific documents as well as media files in huge databases.
- SymLink technology:
The object type "SymLink" enables users to use content in icoya OpenContent more than once in different, user-defined locations, e.g. on the internet and the intranet, although the content is still managed centrally in one file. This is achieved by the use of shortcuts, enabling the publication of one document at several locations within the portal, and so substantially improving the flexibility of content integration and simplifying content administration.
- Shadow functionality:
The icoya shadow function for documents allows the editing of already released and published documents as a "shadow" version. Changes in this shadow version are only visible after another successive publication. By editing a published document, the shadow-function automatically creates a copy of the respective document which can be edited, while leaving the original, published version unchanged, until a future publication action. The document can be edited and released according to the flexible icoya workflow - content will be updated only after a new release. The shadow-function offers the highest possible flexibility in the process of editing and releasing content and assures furthermore the consistency of published content.
- Platform independend WYSIWYG
editor:
Built-in WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) editors support most operating systems including Windows, Linux, Mac-OS, Solaris, BSD, HP-UX and more.
- Multi-Language Extension:
icoya OpenContent with Multi-Language Extension allows the comfortable management of internationalised (localised) internet- and intranet portals by built-in multi-language functionality for the simultaneous administration of content (documents, menus, graphics etc.) in any language. This includes Asian languages as well.
- Unlimited database
size:
icoya databases are not limited in size. The actual maximum database size may be limited by the operating system and file system (2TB for Windows NTFS, 4TB for Linux Ext2FS and Ext3FS, 16TB for Linux RaiserFS, 32PB (Petabytes) for IBM JFS, 1TB for Solaris 9, 128GB for HP-UX 10.20,11.x)
